| | Not all beaches are created equal in Sihanoukville. Some are crowded, some sandy, and some rocky. Some are undergoing big changes with major developments and the coastal scenery is going to change in the next few years. | |

| Occheuteal
Ocheteaul is the most popular tourist beach. It is long, narrow and sandy with beach stands, hotels, and little seafood restaurants. A number of bars throw beach parties and barbeques into the night. A development project is in the works at the southern end. | | | Serendipity This is on the northern end of Occheuteal beach and one of the few places with bungalows on the water. It is the shopping beach with several internet cafes, clothing stores, tour and boat operators. Beach parties take place often. | | | Sokha Beach
This is privately owned by Sokha Beach Resort and is probably the prettiest beach here. It is equipped with grass umbrellas, gazebos and upscale restaurants and bars for hotel guests. | | | Victory Beach This is the original backpacker hangout but has lost some of that vibe. A Russian investor has converted an old Russian plane into a café and disco. There are also some seafood restaurants near the dock and the usual paraphernalia of beach umbrellas, chairs, and vendors. There are boat operators and a casino. | Otres Beach Otres has a bohemian vibe, is the quietest beach and the furthest away from town. There are several small beach stands, bars and umbrellas. Sailboat, kayak and catamaran rentals are available. | | | Independence Beach It is named after the Independence Hotel which has been in the area since the 1960s. A nice stretch of white sand but is lacking the umbrellas and beach facilities. Much of it is now closed for development. | | | Hawaii Beach It is isolated from the others. Pine trees offer shade and boats are available to Snake Island. It has the usual beach umbrellas, chairs and little shack bars and restaurants. A new marina is being planned. | | | Depot Beach This is an untouched stretch of beach, a long way from the seaport and the oil terminal. It is a good place to set up a hammock. There are only a few fishermen | | |
